Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the purposes for which it is used, and the limited circumstances in which others may receive it. By continuing to use Cumberland County Criminal History, you accept the data practices stated here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. We do not keep a separate log of the terms entered through those boxes.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained for the time needed to answer it. Messages remain within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our systems receive basic technical details when a visitor loads a page:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • The referring website, when available
  • Browser name and version
  • Device category and operating system
  • Visited pages and time spent on them
  • The device's assigned IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure broad traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers may combine those usage signals. A browser can reject cookies, though disabling them may change how some site functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Sending a query to the selected outside search provider
  • Finding and correcting technical faults
  • Measuring which material readers use
  • Operating the site and maintaining page speed
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Cumberland County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It identifies official routes to the Cumberland County sheriff, local courts, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not turned into a consumer report or a record about another person, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search boxes. A partner's privacy policy, retention schedule, and sharing rules apply to information submitted to its tool. Those practices are outside our control, so review the provider's terms before running a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links lead to court portals, sheriff pages, Tennessee agencies, legal resources, and outside tools. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy terms control. Read those terms before providing personal information.

Some advertising services may measure activity across websites to select ads. That processing takes place on the advertising provider's systems.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

  • Advertising networks serving material on the pages
  • Search providers processing a submitted query
  • Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
  • Government authorities acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security measures protect the information we collect. No internet service can guarantee complete security, however, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.

Users Under 18

This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A verified notice that a minor supplied information will lead to its deletion.

Your Data Rights

Applicable law may provide rights over personal data. Tennessee's public-record framework appears principally in Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 10-7-503 and 10-7-504, while criminal-history dissemination authority appears in § 38-6-120. Those laws govern official records and do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Visitors may:

  • Object to certain forms of processing
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Ask for deletion where the law permits it
  • Request a copy of personal information held about them

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised as site practices or legal duties change. The replacement text will appear here with a new effective date.
